Nitrogen Gas Explosion Near Mysuru Palace Leaves One Dead, Several Injured

At least one person was killed and several others sustained serious injuries after a nitrogen gas-related explosion near Amba Vilas Palace in Mysuru on Thursday.

According to preliminary reports, the incident occurred close to the Jaya Marthanda Gate of the historic palace complex when a nitrogen gas-filled balloon exploded while it was being inflated. The blast reportedly took place suddenly, catching people in the vicinity off guard.

The impact of the explosion was severe, causing extensive injuries to multiple individuals present at the site. Emergency services rushed the injured to a nearby hospital, where doctors said some of them remain in critical condition.

Following the incident, police immediately cordoned off the area around the palace to prevent further risk and began an investigation to determine the exact cause of the blast. Officials are examining whether safety protocols were followed while handling the nitrogen gas equipment.
