The legal battle between former Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has intensified once again as Pitt has filed new documents in court regarding the sale of their French winery, Chateau Miraval.
According to a report by People, Pitt’s legal team has submitted fresh evidence and communications exchanged with Jolie’s representatives concerning her 2021 sale of her stake in the winery, which the two co-owned before their split.
⚖️ Inside the New Filing
The newly submitted exhibit includes a November 2023 email from Jolie’s lawyers addressing Pitt’s ongoing lawsuit, which seeks $35 million in damages.
“The burdensome nature of any production is a matter of Mr. Pitt’s own creation — he is suing Ms. Jolie for $35 million in damages. As a result, he has to incur the expense of producing the documents that will show (or not show) those damages,” Jolie’s legal team wrote in their response.
Her lawyers also alleged that Pitt has refused to produce documents substantiating why he required a four-year NDA that allegedly covered his “personal misconduct.” They further claimed Pitt was seeking “ongoing damages for alleged harm to Miraval’s ongoing operations.”
🍇 Background of the Dispute
Brad Pitt first filed a lawsuit in 2022, claiming that Angelina Jolie sold her share of Chateau Miraval without his consent, violating a prior agreement that neither party would sell their stake without mutual approval.
The Chateau Miraval estate, located in the south of France, was once the couple’s marital home and the venue of their 2014 wedding. The property also houses a renowned winery, which has been a significant source of income for both actors.
Jolie reportedly sold her shares to a subsidiary of the Stoli Group, owned by Russian businessman Yuri Shefler — a move Pitt’s side argues was intended to undermine his control of the company.
💔 Divorce and Family Timeline
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who share six children — Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox — parted ways in 2016 after 12 years together and two years of marriage.
The former couple’s divorce was finalized in December 2024, though their disputes over business and child custody arrangements have continued in court.
🏛️ Next Hearing Scheduled
The next court hearing in the Chateau Miraval case is set for December 17, 2025.
With both legal teams doubling down on document requests and allegations of withholding evidence, the high-stakes courtroom battle between the Oscar-winning stars is far from over.
