Six Dead, Over 50 Injured After Two Passenger Buses Collide in Tamil Nadu’s Tenkasi

In a tragic road accident in Tamil Nadu’s Tenkasi district, six people — including a child — lost their lives and more than 50 passengers were injured when two buses collided on Monday. The impact left both vehicles heavily damaged, prompting a massive rescue and medical response.

According to reports, the collision occurred between:

  • A bus traveling from Madurai to Senkottai, and
  • Another bus heading from Tenkasi toward Kovilpatti

News agency ANI confirmed that 55 passengers were on board the two vehicles. Visuals from the crash site showed debris, shattered glass, and damaged bus frames scattered across the road, causing traffic disruption as crowds gathered.

Police and emergency medical teams arrived promptly, transferring the injured to the Government District Headquarters Hospital in Tenkasi. Authorities warned that the death toll may rise as several victims remain in critical condition.
