Actor Priyanka Chopra has expressed deep sorrow over the Red Fort blast that shook Delhi on Monday evening, leaving eight people dead and several others injured. The high-intensity explosion occurred around 6:52 pm near the Red Fort, sending shockwaves across the nation.

Sharing her thoughts on Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Priyanka wrote, “It’s devastating to see the visuals from Red Fort. So much fear, chaos and heartbreak.”

She added, “My thoughts and prayers are with those injured and condolences for the lives lost. Hoping for some answers soon. In the meantime, please stay safe and alert.”

The actor, who is currently in India for an event related to her upcoming film with Mahesh Babu, is among several Bollywood celebrities who voiced their grief and solidarity with the victims and their families.

What Happened at the Red Fort

The blast occurred outside Delhi’s Red Fort on Netaji Subhash Marg when a Hyundai i20 car exploded, triggering panic in the area. Authorities confirmed that eight people lost their lives while many others were injured.

The Delhi Police Special Cell has registered a case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), indicating possible terror links. Prime Minister Narendra Modi condemned the act and assured that those behind the attack would be brought to justice.

Security has been significantly tightened across Delhi, with additional deployment at government offices, metro stations, airports, and other sensitive areas. Two gates of the Lal Qila Metro Station were temporarily closed as a precautionary measure on Monday evening.
