Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a series of major development projects worth over ₹14,260 crore during his visit to Chhattisgarh as part of the state’s Rajat Mahotsav, marking 25 years of its formation.

The projects span multiple key sectors — roads, energy, industry, and healthcare — reflecting the government’s vision of accelerating infrastructure growth and improving connectivity in the state.

🛢️ Energy & Oil Sector Push

Modi inaugurated HPCL’s new Petroleum Oil Depot at Raipur, constructed at a cost of ₹460 crore with a total storage capacity of 54,000 kilolitres (KL), including 10,000 KL for ethanol under the Ethanol Blending Programme.

He also dedicated the 489-km Nagpur–Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, built at an investment of ₹1,950 crore, which will connect 11 districts of Chhattisgarh to India’s National Gas Grid — a major step toward enhancing the state’s energy infrastructure.

🛣️ Boosting Connectivity

In the road sector, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the four-lane Greenfield Highway from Pathalgaon–Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh–Jharkhand border, being developed by NHAI at an estimated cost of ₹3,150 crore. The corridor will connect coal mines, industrial zones, and steel plants across Korba, Raigarh, Jashpur, Ranchi, and Jamshedpur.

He also inaugurated the upgradation of NH-130C (Madangmuda–Deobhog–Odisha border) into a two-lane highway with paved shoulders and laid the foundation for NH-130D (Narayanpur–Kasturmeta–Kutul–Nilangur–Maharashtra border).

Power Projects for a Stronger Grid

Modi inaugurated the Inter-Regional ER–WR Interconnection Project, designed to enhance electricity transfer between India’s eastern and western power grids by 1,600 MW.

He also dedicated power infrastructure projects worth ₹3,750 crore, including ₹1,860 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) to improve rural and agricultural power supply.
Additionally, nine new substations were inaugurated across the state, while new transmission projects worth ₹1,415 crore were launched in Kanker, Balodabazar–Bhatapara, and other districts.

🏭 Industrial & Healthcare Development

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stones for two Smart Industrial Areas — at Siladehi–Gatwa–Birra (Janjgir–Champa) and Bijletala (Rajnandgaon) — alongside a new Pharmaceutical Park to boost drug and healthcare manufacturing.

He also announced five new Government Medical Colleges at Manendragarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir–Champa, Geedam (Dantewada), and Bilaspur, along with the Government Ayurveda College and Hospital.

🕊️ Tributes & Cultural Initiatives

During the visit, PM Modi inaugurated the ‘Shanti Shikhar’ spiritual learning centre of the Brahma Kumaris, unveiled the statue of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the new Chhattisgarh Vidhansabha building, and inaugurated the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial & Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum.

He also launched the “Aadi Shourya” e-book and the Museum Portal, commemorating the bravery of India’s tribal heroes.
