The Central government is expected to release the 21st installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme in the first half of November 2025, according to official sources. Eligible farmers are urged to complete their e-KYC verification and check their beneficiary status on the official portal to ensure they do not miss out on the upcoming ₹2,000 payment tranche.
Under the PM-KISAN scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, directly credited to their bank accounts to provide financial support for agricultural and domestic needs.
Who Is Eligible to Receive the 21st Installment?
All landholding farmer families who own cultivable land in their names are eligible to receive the PM-KISAN benefits.
The scheme defines a “farmer family” as a husband, wife, and minor children owning cultivable land collectively.
The government has clarified that the benefit is available irrespective of the size of landholding, meaning even large landowners with more than 2 hectares of cultivable land qualify for the payment.
Who Is Not Eligible Under the PM-KISAN Scheme?
The following categories are excluded from receiving the benefits:
- Institutional landholders, such as companies, trusts, or cooperative societies.
- Families where any member is:
- A current or former holder of a constitutional post (President, Governor, etc.).
- A serving or former minister, MP, MLA, Mayor, or District Panchayat Chairperson.
- An employee of Central or State Government, or any Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) — except Class IV / Group D staff and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS).
- A retired individual receiving a pension above ₹10,000/month, except Class IV pensioners.
- An income tax payer in the last assessment year.
- A registered professional, such as a doctor, engineer, lawyer, chartered accountant, or architect.
PM-KISAN Update for Jammu & Kashmir
The 21st installment has already been disbursed for farmers affected by floods and landslides in Jammu & Kashmir, according to reports. However, for farmers across the rest of India, the central government is yet to officially announce the nationwide release date.
What Farmers Should Do Now
Farmers are advised to:
- Complete e-KYC through the official pmkisan.gov.in portal or local CSC centers.
- Verify Aadhaar-bank linkage to ensure direct transfer of funds.
- Regularly check beneficiary status and update records if any discrepancies are found.
Failure to update KYC or banking details could delay or block the ₹2,000 installment.
