NEW DELHI: Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has delivered its most impressive performance yet in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, emerging as one of the biggest gainers in this year’s contest. According to the latest Election Commission trends, LJP(RV) is leading in 22 constituencies, a massive leap from 2020, when the party won just one seat.
In the previous election, LJP(RV) had contested 137 seats but secured only a single victory. However, its aggressive campaign against Nitish Kumar significantly cut into JD(U)’s vote share, bringing the party’s tally down from 71 seats in 2015 to 43 in 2020 — a decline widely attributed to LJP(RV)’s influence.
This year, the scenario is notably different. LJP(RV) is no longer viewed merely as a spoiler; instead, it is making substantial independent gains across the state.
Where LJP(RV) Is Leading
The party is ahead in key constituencies across north, central, and south Bihar, including:
Sugauli, Govindganj, Belsand, Bahadurganj, Kasba, Balrampur, Simri, Bakhtiarpur, Bochahan, Darauli, Garkha, Mahua, Bakhri, Parbatta, Nathnagar, Fatuha, Dehri, Obra, Sherghati, Bodh Gaya, Rajauli, and Gobindpur.
Statewide Trends
The broader electoral picture shows the dominance of the two major alliances:
- NDA has crossed the halfway mark, buoyed by strong performances from both BJP and JD(U).
- Mahagathbandhan (MGB) is trailing, though RJD remains the strongest individual party within the alliance.
- LJP(RV) appears to be the standout performer among smaller parties, leading in 22 seats.
What Exit Polls Predicted
Most exit polls projected a clear victory for the NDA, with estimates suggesting that LJP(RV) would secure 10–15 seats. Under the alliance seat-sharing agreement, LJP(RV) contested 29 seats, while both BJP and JD(U) fielded candidates in 101 constituencies each.
