Blast Near Red Fort: What Happened
The explosion took place around 6:50 PM on Monday near a Hyundai i20 car parked close to the Red Fort metro station. Initially, nine people were reported dead, but the toll rose to 12 after three succumbed to injuries on Tuesday.
The Delhi Police Special Cell and National Investigation Agency (NIA) are probing the incident under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), suspecting possible terror links.
Security has been heightened across the National Capital Region (NCR), with additional deployment at government buildings, metro stations, airports, and border entry points.
