In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, four employees of a private BPO were abducted from their Koramangala office on Saturday morning. The police have arrested eight individuals and seized two vehicles used during the kidnapping.
The incident occurred at the Global Telecom Connect office, where the kidnappers reportedly lured the employees out by falsely claiming that police officers were waiting for them downstairs. Once the victims stepped outside, they were forcefully taken away.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Sarah Fathima said the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of ₹18.9 lakh. One of the employees was coerced into transferring money to a relative’s account, and the gang also demanded cash from the victims.
A distress alert made to emergency number 112 allowed the police to quickly track the suspects. “Teams were formed immediately, and we traced the accused, arrested them, and confiscated the vehicles used in the crime,” DCP Fathima told reporters.
Police have registered a case of kidnapping for ransom. Investigations are ongoing to uncover additional links and possible motives behind the crime.
