Here’s how the Diwali bank holiday schedule looks across different states:

  • October 20 (Monday): Holiday in all states except Manipur, Maharashtra, and Jammu & Kashmir.
  • October 21 (Tuesday): Holiday in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur, Jammu & Kashmir for Diwali Amavasya (Laxmi Pujan).
  • October 22 (Wednesday): Holiday in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh for Govardhan Pooja.
  • October 23 (Thursday): Holiday in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Himachal Pradesh for Bhai Dooj.

Banks will resume normal operations on October 24 (Friday), but will again remain closed on October 25 (Saturday) and October 26 (Sunday) due to the weekend.
