After the massive global success of Pushpa, actor Allu Arjun is taking a highly cautious and strategic approach toward selecting his next films. Popularly known as the “Icon Star,” Allu Arjun is currently shooting for director Atlee’s large-scale sci-fi action-fantasy film in Mumbai, but discussions about his next project have already begun in industry circles.

Allu Arjun Yet to Lock His Next Director

Though rumours suggested that Allu Arjun had finalised Lokesh Kanagaraj for his next, sources close to the actor confirm that no director has been finalised yet.

Instead, Allu Arjun has reportedly been in talks with five top filmmakers, all of whom have narrated story ideas to him:

  • Sanjay Leela Bhansali
  • Prashanth Neel
  • Nelson Dilipkumar
  • Basil Joseph
  • Lokesh Kanagaraj

Insiders say that while he liked some story concepts, he has not committed to any project yet. His goal is to select films with universal appeal that can help expand his fanbase across international markets.

“Allu Arjun wants scripts that resonate with audiences beyond India. He is taking his time because he wants clarity on how his global image is shaping up,” a source said.

Timeline for Next Project

The actor hopes to:

  • Complete Atlee’s film by summer 2026
  • Finalise and launch his next film towards the end of 2026

The decision is likely to be made only after he wraps major filming for his current project.

Focus on Global Collaborations

Allu Arjun has been actively seeking international collaborations:

  • Western VFX studios for high-end action sequences
  • Choreographers and artists from South-East Asia
  • Global technicians to elevate production scale

These choices reflect his vision to strengthen his presence in multiple international markets following Pushpa’s worldwide success.
